Building Language Bridges Since 2018
We started with a simple belief: language learning should connect people, not just fill textbooks.
What began as a small classroom in Phnom Penh has grown into something we're genuinely proud of. Not because of numbers or certifications, but because we've watched hundreds of students find their voice in English and use it to change their own stories.
The Beginning Was Personal
Our founder, Chanthy Rattanak, spent years working as a translator. She saw talented professionals struggle not because they lacked skill, but because English became a barrier between them and opportunities. That frustration turned into action in early 2018.
We opened with twelve students in a rented space near the Russian Market. No fancy equipment, just dedicated teachers who understood what adult learners actually needed. The first three months were honestly rough. But then something clicked when we stopped following traditional textbook sequences and started building lessons around real workplace situations.
By late 2019, we'd moved twice to accommodate growth. Not the explosive kind you read about in startup stories, but steady expansion driven by students bringing their colleagues and friends. That's still how most people find us today.
What Guides Our Teaching
These aren't buzzwords we put on posters. They're principles that shape every decision we make, from curriculum design to how we give feedback.
Practical First
Grammar matters, but only when it serves communication. We teach the English you'll actually use in meetings, emails, and conversations. Theory comes second to application because that's what works in real life.
Respect for Time
Most of our students work full-time jobs. We structure lessons to maximize learning in limited hours. No filler activities or wasted sessions. When someone invests their evening with us, we make it count.
Honest Progress Tracking
We'll tell you where you actually stand, not where you want to be. Our assessments reflect genuine capability, and we adjust teaching strategies based on what's working rather than sticking to rigid plans that might not fit your learning style.
Local Context
Learning English in Cambodia means understanding the specific challenges our students face. We incorporate regional business practices, cultural considerations, and the actual English variants used in Southeast Asian professional environments.
Teacher Development
Good instruction doesn't happen by accident. Our teachers participate in monthly training sessions focused on adult learning psychology and adaptive teaching methods. When they grow, students benefit directly.
Community Building
Language learning works better with peer support. We facilitate study groups, conversation practice sessions, and informal gatherings where students practice without the pressure of formal assessment.
Who Teaches at BridgeDataNet
We're selective about instructors. Not in a snobbish way, but because teaching adults requires different skills than working with children or university students. Our core team brings both language expertise and real-world professional experience.
Vibol Samnang
Senior Instructor, Business English
Spent eight years in corporate training before joining us in 2019. He understands workplace communication because he lived it, which shows in how he structures business English modules around actual office scenarios.
Sreymom Kosal
Lead Instructor, Conversational Programs
Former journalist who switched to teaching after realizing she loved helping others find clarity in communication. Her background in interviewing translates to exceptional listening skills and the ability to draw out even shy speakers.
How We Actually Teach
Forget rows of desks facing a whiteboard. Our classrooms run on discussion, role-play, and collaborative problem-solving. We cap groups at eight students so everyone gets speaking time every session.
Lessons follow a pattern we've refined over seven years: brief concept introduction, immediate practice through realistic scenarios, peer feedback rounds, and instructor guidance that addresses specific issues rather than generic corrections.
Between sessions, students access practice materials through our online platform. Not busywork assignments, but targeted exercises based on areas where they struggled during class. This individualized approach takes more preparation time, but the results speak clearly.

Looking Toward 2026
We're planning to launch specialized industry-focused programs in September 2025, starting with English for tech professionals and hospitality workers. These sectors have unique vocabulary and communication patterns that generic business English doesn't fully address.
There's also a pronunciation workshop series in development for late 2025. Many students tell us they understand English well and can write competently, but feel self-conscious about speaking. We're building a program that addresses accent reduction without erasing linguistic identity.
What won't change is our commitment to small class sizes and personalized attention. Growth matters, but only if we maintain the quality that brought students to us in the first place. Scaling properly takes time, and we're okay with that.
